MEET THE COACHES

Conor Bateman
Head Coach
Hi there, my name is Conor Bateman and I am the head coach here at Warwick University Fencing Club. I am heading into my second year here at the club after moving to the area just over a year ago. I am looking forward to helping the club succeed in fostering greater fencing potential amongst experienced and beginner fencers. I look forward to meeting you all in September.

Calum Wilson
Volunteering Coach
I'm Calum, a volunteer coach with the club for the last eight years. I am qualified in three weapons, and have coached international fencers across all age-groups. My career highlights include giving individual lessons to two Olympians, and being part of the team that won British Fencing's inaugural "Club of the Year award"

Evan Little
Student Coach
Hi! I’m Evan, a 3rd year maths student here at Warwick. I’m a qualified coach, and have been coaching here at the club for the last year, mostly in my primary weapon – foil, though I now teach all three weapons. I greatly enjoy working with our novice and intermediate fencers in particular – it’s extremely satisfying to see people new to the sport learn, develop, and ultimately prove themselves at various competitions. I can’t wait to see what talent the coaching team can bring out this year, in both our newcomers and returning fencers!
